Q:This depends (In ref to your question). Do a RA interview and figure out appeal factors. If you have Novelist, there is a lexile reading level you can work with, though it doesn't have it for every book. Urban Fiction is extremely popular in my library as are Easy Readers which form a part of our Literacy Collection. Two different audiences with the same reading level. My 2 centz!

Wise words from another librarian on yesterday’s question.

We have some success with urban fiction, too, but its gets stolen like whoa, and it’s hard to then convince our collection development librarian (dealing with a slashed budget after our move) to allocate more to such an ephemeral resource.
