about
So, I’m Katherine. I write here about the bookish parts of my life, especially public librarianship and young adult literature. In August 2012, I finished my Masters of Science in Library Science at Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science. I currently work as the Head of Young Adult Services at Sunderland Public Library. (Any views expressed here, though, are mine, and not Simmons’s or SPL’s!)
Before New England, I spent a summer helping organize and run a low-income neighborhood children’s library in my hometown. Before that, my shiny new husband and I logged six months in rural western Uganda, where I helped with libraries and read to the children who peeked in our windows. Before that, I got my undergraduate degree in English literature and Great Books at a little Baptist school down in the heart of Georgia — part of which I completed with a term at the University of Oxford.
